SPEAKER :
SUMMARY:
The professionalization of the "management" function in dental practices, and particularly in group practices and practices specializing in dento-facial orthopedics, has become a major challenge to their economic viability. However, many practitioners still manage their practices and teams empirically and intuitively, based on the "patriarchal" model that has been in force for decades in human-scale businesses. Unilateral decision-making, omnipotence and authoritarianism are favored to the detriment of a more participative and delegative management style (management 3.0/4.0), involving the practice's human resources in its continuous improvement process (Quality approach).
Organizational change and the adoption of working methods inherited from "scientific" management are all the more necessary as social and economic conditions increasingly weaken the dental sector.
