SPEAKER:

SUMMARY :
The professionalization of the management function in dental practices, and particularly in group practices and practices specializing in dentofacial orthopedics, has become a major factor in their economic viability. However, many practitioners still manage their practice and team empirically and intuitively, following the patriarchal model that has prevailed for decades in small and medium-sized businesses. Unilateral decision-making, omnipotence, and authoritarianism are favored over a more participative and delegative management style (Management 3.0/4.0), which involves the practice's key personnel and staff in its continuous improvement process (Quality Management approach).
The management of organizational change and the adoption of working methods inherited from "scientific" management are all the more necessary as social and economic circumstances increasingly weaken the dental sector.
