Dr. Wacyl Mesnay
A qualified specialist in orthodontics, he holds a university diploma in occlusodontics and a university diploma in stress management and behavioral therapy. He was President of the Île-de-France College of Occlusodontics and directed a Pain and Temporomandibular Disorder consultation service at Bretonneau Hospital (Paris) for 22 years. A lecturer at Paris V University, speaker, and author of numerous articles on the subject, he edits the TTM section of the SBR journal.
SUMMARY :
Orthodontists are particularly exposed to temporomandibular disorders (TMD) in their patients during their daily practice.
Over the past 30 years, the understanding of TMD has evolved considerably.
Current recommendations for treating these disorders are based on a stabilization technique and functional rehabilitation similar to the so-called "integrative" treatments used for general musculoskeletal disorders.
In accordance with the recommendations of various European and North American academies, the author presents a novel approach to screening and treatment, particularly suited to practitioners in their daily practice. This approach allows for the immediate identification and management of the majority of TMD cases; that is, 80% of cases. The therapeutic solutions are simple, effective, and compatible with daily practice. Clinical cases and results will be presented in video format.

Lecturer in the Orthodontics Department at the University of Bordeaux and active member of several orthodontic societies. Private practice in Tunis since 1990.
