How can orthodontic treatment be successful? ... By understanding how the occlusion works.

MONDAY DECEMBER 18, 2023- LYON - HÔTEL MARRIOTT cité internationale

ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED FOR APRIL 17
Coordinated by Drs Jean-Luc OUHIOUN and Frédéric CHALAS

SPEAKERS :

Dr Antonin HENNEQUIN, Pr Florent DESTRUHAUT, Dr Jean-Claude COMBADAZOU

SUMMARY

Neuromuscular occlusion focuses on the study of muscle function. The inter-arch relationship is functional when the manducatory muscles contract correctly. But beyond this dental relationship, it is the position of the cephalic extremity and the entire posture that must be taken into consideration by every clinician involved in oral rehabilitation.

During this one-day training course, the speakers will review the fundamentals of occlusal diagnosis, emphasizing the importance of the initial interview and clinical examination. In the second part, complementary examinations such as surface electromyography, electronic recording of mandibular movements and stabilometry will be presented in a didactic way and through a large number of clinical cases.

Using clinical cases related to dentofacial orthopedics, the speakers will attempt to demonstrate the importance of this occlusal management, which Japanese orthodontists have well integrated into their practice.
